Functional red yeast rice is a highly bio-tech product which is made from rice fermented by monascus purpureus, Monacolin K and other congeneric products are generated during the secondary metabolism .

Monacolin K is an inhibitor of limiting velocity enzymes (3-hydroxyl-3-methy glutaryl COA,reductase,or HMG COA reductase) of cholesterol’s anabolism.This natural HMG-COA inhibitor and many other unsaturated fatty acid can reduce cholesterol and regulate the blood fat.

The more un-ringed Monacolin K,the better effect.
